Venice, in Winter
Venice & the Lagoon

Venice, in Winter

4 nights
Overview

The city stripped of crowds: a private water taxi, misted canals at dawn, and a Palazzo dinner that begins with candlelight.

Venice as it should be seen — quiet, misted, and yours. Four nights on the Grand Canal with private access to churches, workshops, and a candlelit dinner in a palazzo that has hosted Venetian nobility for four centuries.

Day by day

A rhythm, unhurried.

Arrival by water
Day 1

Arrival by water

Private water taxi from Marco Polo down empty winter canals. Welcome dinner at Aman Venice, in a hand-frescoed salon with the Grand Canal outside the window.

The senses

The chill damp of the lagoon, mist rising off the water, cichetti and a bracing Prosecco Superiore in a Tiepolo-frescoed room.

Palaces & workshops
Day 2

Palaces & workshops

Private early visit of Palazzo Ducale and the Secret Itineraries before opening. Afternoon on Murano with a master glassblower, a small piece made in your presence.

The senses

Cold gilt in empty state rooms, then the roaring heat of a Murano furnace, glowing molten glass drawing in the dark.

The lagoon, quietly
Day 3

The lagoon, quietly

Full-day private motor launch to Torcello and Burano. Lunch at a family osteria known only to gondoliers. Return through the northern lagoon at the blue hour.

The senses

Fog burning off pastel walls, wood smoke from an osteria hearth, risotto di gò with lagoon fish and a chilled Ribolla Gialla.

A palazzo dinner
Day 4

A palazzo dinner

A morning at leisure — a private walk of hidden Venice with a local writer, or a coffee at Florian in an empty Piazza San Marco. Farewell dinner in a private palazzo on the Grand Canal, prepared by a personal chef and served by candlelight.

The senses

Candlelight on a frescoed ceiling, silver on damask linen, the slow lap of water at the palazzo's own dock beneath your window.
