The Lakes & Milan

6 nights
Overview

A Riva speedboat, a private villa on the water, and the quiet Milan that only insiders keep for themselves.

Two nights of city rhythm in Milan followed by four unhurried nights on Lake Como. A vintage Riva at your dock, dinners in villas that never open to the public, and an afternoon inside a private atelier in the Quadrilatero.

Day by day

A rhythm, unhurried.

Milan, discreetly
Day 1

Milan, discreetly

Check-in at Portrait Milano in a 16th-century seminary. Aperitivo in the internal cortile, then a private after-hours visit to Leonardo's Last Supper.

The senses

The stillness of an empty refectory in front of Leonardo's fresco, a Negroni bittering the tongue, and the smell of fresh linen in a sunlit courtyard.

The Quadrilatero, by appointment
Day 2

The Quadrilatero, by appointment

A private atelier fitting with a Milanese couturier in the Quadrilatero della Moda. A quiet lunch at a members-only club, then dinner at Cracco's chef's table in the Galleria.

The senses

The whisper of raw silk being unrolled on a cutting table, chalk on wool, then the mineral snap of a great Franciacorta before dinner.

Transfer to the lake
Day 3

Transfer to the lake

Chauffeured drive to Como and welcome dinner at Villa d'Este's La Veranda, overlooking the water. Nightcap on the terrace as the ferries cross to Bellagio.

The senses

The wet green scent of the lake, wisteria on the balustrades, and the distant putter of a wooden runabout heading home.

Como by Riva
Day 4

Como by Riva

A full day aboard a vintage Riva Aquarama, stopping at Villa del Balbianello and lunching at Locanda dell'Isola Comacina — the ancient six-course meal, unchanged since 1947, ending with the ceremonial fire ritual.

The senses

The throaty growl of the Riva's twin engines, cold spray on sun-warm skin, and grilled trout with rosemary served on hand-painted plates.

Bellagio & the gardens
Day 5

Bellagio & the gardens

A private visit to the Rockefeller-owned gardens of Villa Serbelloni, closed to the public. A lakeside picnic curated for you on a hidden terrace, then an evening at leisure.

The senses

The cool green shade of botanical paths, cypress and camphor in the air, and a bottle of Ghemme opened over cured meats above the water.

A private villa dinner
Day 6

A private villa dinner

A candlelit dinner in a privately owned villa on the water — opened only for you — with a chef flown in from Milan. Return by tender under the stars.

The senses

Candles reflected in dark water, cool marble underfoot, the deep quiet of a lake at midnight and the last splash of oars on the way back.
